Background
Health Galaxy Park (HGP) was established by a team of technocrats from the University of Zimbabwe as an investment vehicle targeting the health sector in Zimbabwe aimed at capacity enhancement of the national health care service. The HGP has engaged potential investors from the United States of America (USA) with a proposal for the establishment of a Health Infrastructure, Technology and Skills Coordination Centre (HITSCC) and a Pharmaceutical Innovation Hub in Harare, Zimbabwe. This project leverages on the already established foundation laid down by the International Pharmacotherapy Education and Research Initiative (IPERI) of the University of Zimbabwe in collaboration with the Center for Integrated Global Biomedical Sciences of the University at Buffalo (State University of New York), USA.
HITSCC
HITSCC’s main objective is to promote Public Private Partnerships into the health sector through various projects. All the health projects the team has promoted into Zimbabwe during the 20-year relationship have been donor driven. HITSCC endeavors to bring in both donor driven and investor driven health related projects. The aim is to promote projects that transform Zimbabwe’s and the regions’ health care sector.
